As part of the drive to make the business leaner, the levels of management have been reduced. At Carlton Laser we aim to get our people to self manage the company by delegating decision-making down to the most appropriate level. We do this by ensuring good training and developing great internal relationships by effective communication. Senior management spend time each day on the workshop floor, cross-team communication is constant and each member of staff is given responsibility for their area of work. The performance of all staff from Managing Director downwards is analysed against every job undertaken by Carlton – this gives accountability at all levels to the Team.
